Devon Deepburrow
Halfling Rogue
Standing only three and a half feet tall, it is fairly easy to overlook Devon. A Hairfoot halfling, he has many of the characteristics of that race brown curly hair on his head (which often has an unkempt appearance), matching hair on his feet, brown eyes, and a tan complexion. He is more slender than one might expect and appears quite robust. He is not particularly strong or attractive (actually he borders on being somewhat weak and ugly).
Devons appearance is generally very nondescript. He wears dark gray breeches with a plain leather belt from which a few belt pouches hang. Above the waist, he wears a matching vest of obviously good quality and a slightly lighter gray shirt. No weapons are visible; however, he does wear a gold ring on his right hand. Sometimes he adds a bit of "flair" with a black gemstone pendent set in silver, a rose in his vest lapel, and/or a large floppy hat with or without a feather. He almost never wears boots, sandals, or any other form of footwear.
When actively adventuring he will often carry a short sword, backpack, and have a dark gray hooded cloak with him. He sometimes will wear leather armor under his vest, but prefers not to. He does not carry or use a shield of any type.
Despite his somewhat homely appearance, Devon is a generally likeable fellow. His eyes smile a lot, as does his mouth at least when there isnt a pipe in it! He likes to laugh, joke, and entertain his friends and fellow adventurers with juggling routines, tumbling, card tricks, and the like. When asked about his profession, he usually says that he is a "seeker" of adventure, experience, knowledge, information, "misplaced" items, or whatever. Of course there are those that would prefer he not find some things or disagree about whether a particular item is misplaced (particularly if it belongs to them)!
Devons talent as a "seeker" is secondary to his true vocation as a Misadventurer of Brandobaris, the halfling god of adventurers, stealth, and halfling rogues. He serves his god through his adventuring and showing the world that not all halflings are "home bodies" whether he does so through his clerical abilities, his skills as a thief, or other skills is of little importance to him as long as he is adventuring. Devon enjoys telling tales of the Master of Stealths adventures and those of his followers. He also loves to talk about halflings in general and their contributions to the world including the world of adventuring. Devon is always open to a good story and seeks to learn as much as he can about other races, their histories, and legends.
